The Twelve Days of Christmas Starts:

What is AAOK?

AAOK was founded in 2012 and stands for “Amazing Acts of Kindness”. It’s a family-run organization that assists individuals and/or families in need every year around Christmas time.  We partner with local schools, hospitals, police departments, churches, and other “community partners” to identify families that could use assistance over the holidays.  From there, we pair them with a sponsor and help facilitate amazing acts of kindness over the holidays.

There are three (3) simple ways you can help promote amazing acts of kindness through AAOK.

Adopt a Family

Helping a family in need during the holidays is an experience you'll never forget.

Make a Donation

Every penny counts. We rely on donations to support our marketing and operations.

Volunteer Your Time

There are so many moving parts. We can use all the help we can get.

Mr. and Mrs. Brown participated in the A.A.O.K. program for five (5) years in a row.  The eagerness and excitement that they showed year after year was equally as rewarding to us, as helping families in need.

“We look forward to this each year…we get so much more than we give.  It’s truly a Merry Christmas.”

How Our Christmas Program Works

Step 1 - We Identify Families in Need

All families in our program are nominated by one of our trusted community partners.

Our community partners nominate a family or families in need by submitting a nomination form that is reviewed and approved by our team. This nomination form includes details on why the family is facing hardship and details on some of the things they may want or need for Christmas. Community partners are vetted organizations like local police departments, children's hospitals, schools, other charitable nonprofits, and more.

Step 2 - We identify our holiday helpers

Everyone chosen to adopt a family through our program is vetted through an application process.

In November of each year we use a random lottery system to choose twelve applicants to participate in our program and adopt a family for Christmas. As much as we'd like to work with everyone, our program is focused on 12 days, 12 families and 12 holiday helpers.

Step 3 - Coordinate Amazing Acts of Kindness

When pairing strangers who are willing to help strangers together, amazing things can happen.

After we have identified the families in need as well as who will be adopting them, we go into full coordination mode. We'll pair you with an awesome family and help you through the process to ensure a successful program for you and your lucky adopted family.
